The official grand opening of the West Course in fall 1996 was a true sign of Belfair’s dedication to first-rate golf. Before the course opened, LINKS Magazine called it “what could be the finest set of golf holes in the Lowcountry, if not on the East Coast”. The 18-hole course, with 7,080 total yards from the championship tees, consists of challenging par threes to long par fives. With Tifdwarf Bermuda grass greens, nine of the holes have lakes and tidal marshes in direct play. Framed in untended natural areas, dunes, native grasses and tall pines, the distinctive Lowcountry signature is apparent throughout the course.
