In keeping with aggressive effort to challenge our players and improve their game, the Feree Learning Center was developed and has proven itself as one of the leading learning facilities on the East coast. It provides a place where golfers can come to practice any shot they might confront on the course.

The 30-acre facility is three times larger than most quality practice areas. This center was designed to be the best practice and teaching facility of any private club in America. The Feree Learning Center offers large multiple tees, putting and chipping greens, practice bunkers for greenside and fairway shots, and a variety of target fairways and greens. Tees at either end of the 200-yard wide driving range are approximately 400 yards apart.

The large driving area is divided into thirds with five target greens complete with framing bunkers set at varying yardages. At the south end of the driving area is the Learning Center itself, which occupies an 1,800 square foot building housing indoor hitting rooms, refreshment center, video library and office space. At the heart of the Learning Center building is a 20ft. x 40ft. hitting/classroom combination with capacity for 30 students. The hitting pad is equipped with four video cameras at a variety of angles for accurate analysis of the player’s swing. Thanks to a retractable overhead door, students have the choice of either hitting into a net or firing away full shots directly into the driving area. Four all-weather hitting stalls each with fans and heating units and equipped with video units as well as outdoor fans to deter insects. These are only a few of the features that were not shorted when the Learning Center was developed. A staff of professionals dedicated to adding to the enjoyment of the game while enhancing students’ skills completes the Learning Center experience. As Fazio says: “It stands to reason that a world-class golf community such as Belfair should have a world-class learning center.”
